Raafia Garments

Raafia Garments is located at 115/1, Vanniar Street, right in the heart of Choolaimedu. It’s a busy street, so there’s always something happening outside the door. Inside, it’s a lot of fabric and the sound of sewing machines running. We aren't a big factory or anything; it’s more of a local setup where we do things by hand or with small machines. The space is usually filled with scraps of cloth and threads on the floor. We try to keep it tidy, but when we have a lot of orders, it gets messy pretty quick. Our workers have been with us for a bit, and they know how to handle the different materials. We don't really do much advertising. People usually just walk in because they saw a shirt or a dress they liked in the window. We spend our days measuring, cutting, and stitching. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until late. The air in here usually smells like new cotton. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with everyone talking over the machines, but that’s just part of the job. Choolaimedu is a good place for a shop like ours because people are always looking for something to wear. We don’t try to be a fancy boutique. We just make clothes that people can actually use. It’s a straightforward business and we like it that way.
