We are located at No. 14 in the Westwood Mercy Apartment building on Kamban Street. It’s a quiet enough part of Moovar Nagar in Pozhichalur. If you’re coming from the Tallavaram side, it’s not too hard to find. The shop is basically a ground-floor room where we keep all the bags we have. There are backpacks, some travel bags, and the smaller ones people use for market trips. The apartment building gives it a bit of a residential feel, so it’s not like those big shopping malls. We have the bags hanging on hooks along the walls. Sometimes the smell of the new material is quite strong when we open up in the morning. We spend a lot of time checking the zippers and handles to make sure everything is okay. It’s just a small family-run thing, really. We don't use any fancy lighting, just the natural sun coming through the door and the overhead bulbs. Pozhichalur can get a bit dusty, so we are always wiping down the displays. It’s a simple way to spend the day. We know many of the people who live in the Westwood Mercy apartments because they walk past us every day to get to the main road. We keep the door open most of the time to let the breeze in, even if it brings in a bit of noise from the street. It is just a basic shop for basic needs.
