Beena Chugani

My place is located at 6C No 383 on Pantheon Road in Egmore. It is one of those old parts of Chennai where the buildings have a lot of character, even if they are a bit worn down. Being in Egmore means there is always something happening outside. The traffic on Pantheon Road is pretty constant, and you can hear the horns and the general hum of the city all day long. Inside, it is a bit quieter. I have my workspace set up with everything I need close at hand. It is not a polished showroom. It’s more of a practical office where I spend most of my hours. There are stacks of folders and various bits and pieces scattered around. I don't really go for the corporate look because it doesn't feel right for what I do. People usually find me through word of mouth or because they are already in the area for something else. I handle most of the things myself, from answering the phone to dealing with whoever walks through the door. Some days are slow and I have time to drink my tea in peace, while other days are a complete rush. It is just a normal, small-scale operation. I’ve been here long enough that the security guards and the other tenants feel like old friends. It is just a honest way to earn a living in the city.
