Devaki Fashions is located at No. 88 on G. N. Chetty Road. If you know T. Nagar, you know it’s the place to be for shopping. Our shop isn't as big as some of the massive showrooms nearby, but we like it that way. It feels more personal. We spend our days surrounded by fabrics and garments. There’s always someone sewing or pinning something in the back. It’s a bit of a maze with all the racks and rolls of cloth. We’ve been at this address for a good while and have seen many shops come and go. T. Nagar is always buzzing with people, especially during the festival seasons. Our windows are usually full of whatever we’ve just finished making. We don't use professional models or anything like that. We just put the clothes out and let people see them. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded and the air conditioning struggles, but that’s just part of the experience. We aren't some high-end luxury brand. We just make clothes that people can actually wear. Most of our customers are locals who live nearby or work in the area. They stop by to see what’s new or to get something adjusted. We don't have a big marketing plan. We just open the doors and see who comes in every morning. It’s a simple business built on thread and needles. We hope to stay here for a while longer. It is just the way we like to work.
