Pandiya Raja Store

We are Pandiya Raja Store, located at No 1/33 in Palaniyappa Nagar, Madhavaram. Most people just say we are near the Thabalpetti stop. It is a quieter part of Chennai compared to the center, but it still gets its share of the morning rush. The shop is a basic setup with simple wooden counters and rows of glass jars. We sell things like sugar, tea leaves, oils, and local snacks. The building is a bit old, and the paint is peeling in some corners, but it works fine for us. We start our day quite early to catch the people heading to their jobs. The street outside is narrow, so it is mostly people walking in from the nearby houses. We do not really have a computer system here; we just write things down in a notebook or remember the prices. Sometimes we run out of change and have to ask the customer to wait while we run to the next shop to get some. It is a very informal way of doing business. There is a small calendar hanging on the wall that we forget to flip some days. The light bulb in the back corner flickers sometimes, so we mostly use the natural light coming through the front door. We keep a stash of old newspapers to wrap things up when people buy eggs or loose items. It is just a neighborhood store where everyone knows everyone else.
