New Sankar Store

The shop is right here on 13th Main Road in Anna Nagar, not far from the Senthil Nursing Home corner. We’ve been around this part of Chennai for a while now. Most days start early before the sun gets too high and the traffic on the main road picks up. It’s a busy spot but we like it that way. People stop by on their way to work or after dropping kids at school. The shelves stay pretty packed with the usual things folks need for their kitchens and homes. Sometimes the fan in the corner makes a bit of noise, but it keeps things cool enough while we handle the morning rush. We know a lot of the faces that walk through the door because they live just a few streets away. It’s not a fancy place by any means. We just keep things moving and make sure the items people ask for are sitting on the shelf when they come looking. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the narrow part of the road for a minute, which causes a bit of a fuss with the scooters, but that’s just how it goes in this neighborhood. We spend a lot of time checking the stock and talking to the people who’ve been buying from us since we first opened. It’s just us here most days, keeping the lights on and making sure the floor is swept.
