New Sakahar Store

New Sakahar Store is sitting right on Tana Street in Purasiwakkam. We’re at number 28, in the Vepery area of Chennai. This part of town is always buzzing with activity, and our shop is no different. We deal in all kinds of general goods that people need for their homes. I’ve been working here for a long time, watching the street change while the shop stays mostly the same. The building is an old one, which gives it a certain feel, though the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. We have a lot of regular customers who come in every week for their groceries. Chennai weather can be really hot, so the shop is usually a bit warm, but we keep the goods in the shade. I spend a lot of time arranging packets on the shelves and making sure nothing is past its date. It’s a straightforward job. I don't use any fancy marketing tricks. People come here because they know we are open and we have what they want. Tana Street is a landmark in itself, so finding us isn't hard for anyone in the neighborhood. We just focus on getting the daily chores done and making sure every customer gets what they came for. It’s a small life, but it’s a good one here in Vepery. I usually close up when the street lights come on and the traffic finally starts to slow down.
