New Mahalingam Store

We've been at No.112 on K.K. Road for a while now. Most people know where we are because we're right near Balaji Marriage Mahal. It’s a pretty busy spot in Ambattur. The shop isn't huge, but we try to keep things stocked up for everyone. You probably see us when you're heading down towards Venkadapuram. It gets really crowded on the weekends, especially with people going to functions at the hall nearby. We open up the shutters early most days. The shelves are usually full of the stuff families need around here. Sometimes the traffic on K.K. Road is a bit much, making deliveries a hassle, but we manage somehow. It’s just how it is in this part of Chennai. If you live in Venkadapuram, you've likely walked past our front door or stopped in for something quick when you ran out of milk or rice. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights. It's just a regular store where you can get your essentials without a fuss. My family helps out behind the counter when it gets busy in the evenings. We know most of the faces that come through. It's nice seeing the same people every week. The 600053 area is home for us. We just keep doing what we do every day. Nothing too complicated about it. People come in, get what they need, and head back home. We try to keep the place organized, though things get moved around. It's a typical local shop on a busy road.
