Murugan Store

We are located at number 23, Engineers Avenue, right on the 1st Main Road in Kovilambakkam. It’s a decent spot here in Chennai. We’ve been running Murugan Store for a while now and we see the same people from S.Kolathur coming in almost every day. It’s not a huge place, just a regular shop where we keep the things most folks need for their houses. The mornings are usually the busiest time for us. We get the milk delivery early and then start setting things out. It can get quite hot in the afternoons, so we usually have the old fan going while we wait for the next rush. The street outside can get a bit noisy with the bikes and cars going past, but you get used to it after a few weeks. We don’t have a big fancy sign or anything like that. People just know us because we’ve been at this address for so long. We try to keep the shelves tidy, but sometimes when new boxes come in, it gets a little messy for a bit. We just move things around until everything fits. It’s just me and a couple of others helping out. We don't have any big corporate plans. We just want to make sure the neighbors can get what they need without having to travel too far. It's a simple way to make a living and we like the people around here.
