Mini Mart

We are right here on Choolaimedu High Road and the traffic is always loud outside our door. It is hard for people to find parking but they still stop by because they need things. We have shelves that are a bit cramped and sometimes it is hard to walk through the aisles. The milk delivery comes very early in the morning before the sun is even up. Sometimes the rain gets under the door when the storms are heavy. We keep basic things like biscuits, soap, and some pens for the students who live nearby. It is not a big fancy place at No 236. The fans make a bit of noise in the afternoon when it gets hot. People from the offices nearby come in for water or a quick snack. We know most of the faces by now because they come every day. Sometimes we run out of bread and people get a bit annoyed, but that is how it goes. The counter is getting old and the wood is starting to peel. We do not have fancy computers here, just a ledger and a small register. It gets busy around 6 PM when everyone is going home from work. We try to keep things where people can find them easily without asking. The floor needs a sweep twice a day because of the dust from the street. My cousin helps out when I need a break. We have seen this street change a lot over the years.
