Mathaji General Store

Mathaji General Store is right on Medavakkam Main Road. We are at number 4/168 A, just a little ways down from G K Store. It gets pretty busy around here in the mornings when everyone is heading to work or dropping kids off at school. Our place is full of the usual things people need for their houses every day. We spend a lot of time moving boxes around and making sure things are where they should be on the shelves. Sometimes it feels like there is never enough space for everything we want to keep in stock. The fans stay on all day because of the Chennai heat. People from the nearby apartments come in for milk or small things they forgot during their big grocery trips. We know most of the faces that walk through the door. It’s a simple setup. Nothing fancy to look at, just a regular shop where we try to keep the basics available. The traffic outside can be a bit much sometimes, especially in the evenings when the street lights come on and everyone is rushing home. We’ve been here at this spot for a while now. Most days are the same, just keeping the floor clean and talking to the regulars who stop by to pick up a few items. It’s what we do here in Medavakkam. We just try to keep things running smooth for everyone.
