Mahakaruna Foundation For Medical And Research is located at 154 Yeshwanth Nagar in the Selaiyur area of Chennai. It’s a bit of a residential feel around here which we actually quite like. We aren't in one of those huge glass buildings in the middle of a business park. Instead, we are right here in the neighborhood where things are a bit more relaxed. Our work is a mix of medical things and research, and we spend a lot of time just going through data or organizing things for the foundation. The office has a few rooms and a small area where we keep our files. Sometimes the neighbor's dog barks a lot but you get used to it after a few days. We don't really do the whole corporate thing with fancy titles and meetings that go on forever. We just sit down, figure out what needs to happen, and then we do it. It’s a simple way of working and it keeps us busy enough. People from the area sometimes stop by to see what we are up to or just to say hi. We’ve been part of the Selaiyur community for a while now and we just feel like a regular part of the street. It’s a practical place for us to do our work without a lot of unnecessary distractions. The weather gets hot in the afternoons but we have enough fans to keep us going until it is time to leave.
