Indian Rubber & Safety Works

Indian Rubber & Safety Works is at Old No 155, right across from the Merdika Lodge. We are on Angappa Naicken Street in the Parrys area. If you’ve ever been around here, you know how hectic it is. It’s a central business district, and the streets are always jammed with trucks and people working hard. Our place is right in the middle of all that noise. We have a lot of stock, mostly rubber items and safety things, piled up in the back rooms. It’s a bit of a tight fit in here, especially when we are loading or unloading stuff from the street. The building has been here for a long time, and you can see the age in the walls and the floors. We don't have any cooling systems, just some old ceiling fans that spin all day long. It gets pretty hot during the summer months, but we just keep the doors open and get on with our tasks. People come to us because we’ve been in this spot so long. We don't do much in terms of fancy sales talk or anything like that. We just show folks what we have and tell them the price. It’s a very straightforward way of doing business. No frills, no polish, just a lot of work in a very busy part of the city. We are usually quite tired by the time we close up, but that's just how the day goes for us. It works.
