Home Made Biriyani

You can find Home Made Biriyani at 62 Mohammed Hussain Street in Royapettah. We are tucked away right behind Amir Mahal. It’s a very old part of town with a lot of history. The streets are narrow and usually full of people and bikes. Our shop is small and we’ve been here at 600014 for quite some time. We mostly do one thing and we try to do it right every day. The smell of the spices usually lets people know where we are before they even see the sign. We don't have fancy chairs or air conditioning. It is just a place to get some food and go. Being behind the palace is nice because it’s a landmark everyone knows. We see a lot of regulars who have been coming to us for years. We know their faces and what they usually order. It is a bit chaotic during the lunch hour but we like the energy. We start early in the morning to get the pots ready. By the time the afternoon hits, things are moving fast. We don't use any modern machines, just the old ways of cooking. It’s a bit messy sometimes but that’s how a real kitchen looks. We are just a local Royapettah spot trying to keep the tradition going. It’s hard work but we are used to it by now.
