Aachi Masala

We are Aachi Masala and we are over here at No. 4 on First Street in Thangam Colony. Anna Nagar is usually pretty busy, and our spot is right in the middle of all that noise. Most days start early because there is always something to do with the spices. You can smell the turmeric and chili as soon as you get near the door. It’s a lot of work getting everything sorted out and packed. Some days the machines act up or the delivery trucks are late, and we just have to deal with it. We have a few people working in the back and a couple of us up front handling the papers. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. Just some desks, stacks of bags, and a lot of dust from the grinding. Sometimes the heat in Chennai gets to be a bit much, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the building. We usually have tea around four o’clock to keep everyone going. It’s just what we do every day. We’ve been at this for a while now, and most of the people around here know us by the smell of the shop. There isn't much to say other than we stay busy and try to get the orders out on time. If you walk down the street, you can’t miss us because of all the activity. The neighbors sometimes complain about the sneezing when we grind the peppers, but they are used to us. It’s just a normal place with people working hard to get things done.
