Our place is tucked away at number 47 in the Perumal Koil Garden area of Sowcarpet. If you know Sowcarpet, you know how crowded and narrow the streets can get during the daytime. It’s a lively spot to be in, and Agra Narayanan Catering Service has been part of this neighborhood for a good stretch of time. We start our day when it’s still dark outside, getting the stoves going and prepping the ingredients for the afternoon meals. The sound of knives hitting cutting boards is basically our background music here. We aren't a big corporation, just a group of people who know how to cook for large groups of people. Most of our work is for weddings and family functions where people need traditional meals. It gets pretty hot in the kitchen, especially in the summers, but that’s just part of the job. We buy most of our supplies from the markets nearby, so everything is usually quite fresh. The address is a bit tricky to find if you aren't from around here, but once you see the Perumal Koil Garden sign, you’re close. We don’t have a flashy office or anything, just a functional space where we get the cooking done. We talk to our customers directly, usually over a cup of tea, and figure out what they need for their events. It’s a very straightforward way of doing business without any big corporate talk or fancy promises.
