We are over here in Ambattur, right on Kattabomman Street. If you know the Palaiamman Koil, we are just a short walk from there in the Oragadam area. It gets pretty busy around here in the mornings when the temple bells start. Most days start way before the sun is up because there is always something to prep in the kitchen. We have been in this spot for a good while now, just doing our thing with the food. It’s a simple setup at No 1A, nothing too fancy. You can usually smell what we are cooking from the end of the street. Sometimes the traffic gets backed up, especially when there's a festival at the temple, but that's just how life is in this part of Chennai. We spend a lot of time sorting out vegetables and making sure everything is ready on time. The walls have some marks from moving big pots around over the years. It is a lot of hard work standing on your feet all day, but we are used to the heat of the stoves. People around here know where we are if they need a hand with a big meal. We don't really have a big office or anything, just the workspace and the containers. It’s mostly just about getting the orders out and making sure the counts are right before the vans leave. That’s our daily life here on this little street.
