Government Primary School Burj Noji

We are based over in Old Perungalathur, specifically on Rajendra Prasad Street at No: 6. It’s a quiet enough area in Parvathy Nagar, though the mornings are always a bit hectic when the school day starts. Our school, Burj Noji, is a primary school where we see a lot of local faces from the neighborhood. Most of the kids live within walking distance, so you see them coming in groups with their heavy bags. The building is a standard one for this part of Chennai 600063, with small classrooms that get quite warm during the summer months. We have a few trees in the yard that provide some shade, and that’s where the kids usually gather before the bell rings. The teachers spend a lot of time on their feet, moving between desks and helping with basic reading and writing. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We don't have many modern gadgets, so we rely on traditional ways of teaching with books and blackboards. Sometimes the street outside gets blocked by a delivery truck, and we have to help guide the kids safely across. It’s a real community vibe here, and many of the parents were students themselves years ago. We just keep the gates open and the lessons going, making sure this little corner of Perungalathur stays a place for the local children to spend their early years and learn their basics.
