Eatalica

If you go to Loyola College, you probably know where we are. Eatalica is located at No 38 on Sterling Road in Nungambakkam, right opposite the college gate. It’s a very busy street, especially when the college sessions start or end. The sidewalk is always full of students chatting and walking. Chennai can be so incredibly humid, and Sterling Road is no exception. We have been in this spot for a while now, and we’ve seen generations of students pass through. Some of them come back years later after they’ve graduated and moved on. The shop itself is pretty straightforward. We have some posters on the walls and the air conditioning struggles a bit when the place is full. We are right in the heart of Nungambakkam, which is a very active part of the city. There’s a lot of old trees along the road that give some shade, but it’s still hot. We start early in the morning, setting things up before the first bell rings across the street. It’s noisy and crowded, but that’s what makes it feel alive. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a place to sit for a bit and have a meal. The furniture is nothing fancy, just standard stuff that can take the wear and tear of hundreds of students every week. It gets a bit messy sometimes, but that's just part of the day.
