Devar General Store

We've been here at Devar General Store on Rani Anna Nagar for quite a bit now. It is right on the Pk Razzar Garden Main Road in Arumbakkam. People know us in M M D A Colony because we are just around the corner. It gets pretty busy here in the mornings when everyone is heading out. I usually open up early to make sure people can grab what they need. We have the usual stuff, soaps, biscuits, milk, and things for the kitchen. It is a small space but we try to keep it full. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late and we have to stack boxes in the middle of the floor until there is time to move them. The road outside can get noisy with all the traffic. You see the same faces every day, which is nice. Most of the kids from the nearby houses come in for sweets after school. We know their names mostly. It is not some big fancy supermarket or anything. Just a regular shop where you can get your daily things without a fuss. We have been part of this Arumbakkam area for a long time. If we don't have something, we usually try to get it by the next day. It’s just how it works here. People stop by for a chat while they wait for their change. It feels more like a community than just a business, honestly. Nothing too complicated about it. We just keep the shelves stocked and wait for the next person to walk in.
