Caf Aahar

Caf Aahar is tucked into the L.R. Swami Buildings on Annasalai. The address is New No. 463, right in the Teynayxi area of 600018. We've been operating out of this spot for a while. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there is always noise from the street coming in whenever someone opens the door. The place isn't very big, but we have managed to fit enough tables for the lunch rush. Most of the people who come here work in the nearby offices. They usually want something quick so they can get back to their desks. We do our best to keep things simple and fast. The decor is nothing to write home about, just some basic tables and a counter where we keep the snacks. Sometimes the fan makes a bit of a clicking sound, but it keeps the air moving. We aren't trying to be the most modern place in Chennai. We just want to serve decent food that people can afford. Every morning starts with prep work in the back, and we stay open until the evening when the traffic on Annasalai starts to die down. It’s a lot of standing on our feet, but we like seeing the regulars. If the tea is hot and the food is fresh, we figure we are doing okay. It’s just a plain, honest cafe for the working crowd around here.
