Bismillah Stores

Bismillah Stores is inside Padmini Plaza at 3265, Ph Road. We are right in the middle of Iyyappanthangal, which is a very busy part of the city. Being in the plaza means we have neighbors on both sides and people are always coming and going. Our shop is packed with groceries from floor to ceiling. We have to use a ladder sometimes to get the items on the top shelves. It’s a lot of work keeping everything in order. The Ph Road traffic is loud all day long, so you can always hear the horns and buses outside. We get a mix of regulars who live nearby and people just passing through the plaza. The counter is usually busy with people buying bread, eggs, or milk. We don’t have a lot of space for sitting around. Most of the time we are either unpacking boxes or helping someone find a specific spice. The tile floor is a bit worn down in the spots where people stand the most. We try to keep the fridge stocked with cold drinks because it gets so hot in the afternoons. It’s a standard grocery store, nothing too special to look at. We just show up every morning, open the shutters, and start the day. It’s a lot of hours on our feet but we’re used to it. The plaza stays lit up until late evening and we finally get to lock up the doors.
