Assefa Food Mart Private Limited

Our shop is over at 24/1 near the Sarva Seva Farms in Kariyapatti. It is a bit of a drive from the main Madurai city center, but the area is nice and open. We have been operating out of this Virudhunagar spot for some time. Most of the day is spent dealing with bags of grain and different food items that come in from the local farms. The association here is quite active, so there is always someone walking in or out with questions about the stock. It is not a shiny supermarket you might see in a big mall. It is more of a practical place where things get done. The shelves are often full of stuff people actually need for their kitchens. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just keep working with the doors open for light. We have a small desk in the corner where we keep all the papers. It gets quite busy during the harvest season. People around Kariyapatti know us by now. We don't spend much on decorations because we are too busy sorting out the deliveries. The floor is concrete and easy to sweep. We just try to keep the food dry and clean. It is a straightforward way to earn a living and we like being part of the local scene here.
