Arul Jyothi Caterers Tambaram

We are based out of Selaiyur in Tambaram, and this is where all the cooking happens. It’s a big space because we have to fit in the large stoves and the massive pots we use for catering. Most of our mornings start very early, often while it’s still dark, so we can get the food ready for lunch events. We do a lot of local functions around the Tambaram area, mostly weddings and family get-togethers. Our vans are always loaded with steel containers and crates of plates. Sometimes it gets really stressful when we have three different events on the same day and the traffic in Selaiyur is blocked. I’m usually the one making sure we didn't forget the serving spoons or the drinking water. We don't have a fancy office to show people; usually, they just come to the kitchen area to talk to us about their menus. The floors are often wet from cleaning, and there is always the smell of spices in the air. We’ve been doing this for a long time, so we know the local tastes pretty well. It’s physically demanding work, lifting heavy containers and standing in a hot kitchen for hours. We don't use any fancy advertising, word of mouth from one family to another is how we get most of our work. We just focus on getting the food delivered on time to whichever hall we are headed to.
