Arasan Stores

Arasan Stores is located at No.11 on Abdul Farook Saheb Street in Essa Pallavaram. We are right near Lakshmi Palace, so if you know that area at all, you’ve probably walked past us a few times. We are a standard neighborhood shop selling all the usual provisions you’d expect. We’ve got everything from rice and dhal to soaps and matches. The shop is actually quite small, and we’ve used every single inch of wall space for shelves to fit everything in. It can get a bit cluttered during the day, but we know exactly where every single item is kept. Most of our customers are people from the surrounding streets who just need a few things for dinner or to restock their kitchen cupboards. We start pretty early in the morning to get the milk and bread ready for the early birds heading to work. Pallavaram can be quite busy, and the noise from the street is always there in the background. We don't have a big staff, just us working the counter and helping people find what they need. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool when things are slow in the afternoon, just watching the traffic go by for a bit. We don't use any fancy computer systems or anything; we just write things down and give change from a metal box. It’s a simple way of doing things, and it works for us. We just want to keep the shop running.
