Amman Departmental Store

Amman Departmental Store is our little shop at No: 50 on 7th Street in Kannapan Nagar. We’ve been here for a while and we try to stock a bit of everything that a household might need. You’ll find groceries, soaps, snacks, and other small items on our shelves. It’s a family-run place, so there is usually one of us behind the counter from morning until night. The store is quite small, so we have to use every inch of space we have. Things are often stacked up high and the aisles are a bit narrow. It’s a typical neighborhood spot where people from 7th Street stop by for things they forgot at the big market. We know most of our customers by name and we usually know what they are looking for before they even ask. Kannapan Nagar is a good neighborhood and we like being part of it. We don’t have a fancy computer system or bright neon signs. We just use a simple cash box and write things down in our book. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when the delivery truck arrives and we have boxes sitting in the middle of the floor. But we just work around it and keep things moving. It’s a simple way to make a living and we enjoy seeing our neighbors every day. The door is usually open if you need anything at all.
