Akshaya Kuberan Catering Service

We run Akshaya Kuberan Catering Service from a small spot at 112, P S Sivasamy Salai in Mylapore. This part of Chennai has so much history and it’s always crowded with people going to the temples or just doing their daily shopping. Our work is mostly done in the early hours because catering requires a lot of prep time before the sun even comes up. We handle small family functions and some bigger events too when they come our way. We don't have a big storefront with glass windows. It's more of a functional kitchen space where we focus on getting the recipes right. Mylapore is a great place to be because we can get all our supplies like fresh vegetables and spices right around the corner. Sometimes the traffic on Sivasamy Salai makes it tricky to load the vans, but we manage somehow. We are just a local team of cooks and helpers. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just cook the food that people ask for and try to get it to the venue on time. It can be quite stressful when there are many orders at once, but we’ve been doing this for a long time now. Most of our customers come to us because their neighbors or cousins used us before. We like it that way. It is a simple business run by regular people who know how to cook.
