SIDCO Ambattur is a massive place with so many different businesses. We are at number 452 in the industrial estate. Akhilam Foods Private Limited is right in the middle of all that activity. Every morning there’s a rush of people coming in for their shifts. The air is always full of the smell of grease and metal from the neighboring factories, though our spot is cleaner since we handle food. We spend our time managing the production line and making sure the staff has what they need. It’s a lot of manual labor and watching the clock to hit our targets. The building is an old industrial unit, very sturdy but without any frills. We have a small area for the office work, but most of the action happens on the floor. Chennai heat is no joke in Ambattur, so we try to keep the air moving as much as possible. It’s a no-nonsense environment. People come here to work, not to sit around and chat. We’ve been part of this estate for a bit and we like the feeling of being around other people who are also just trying to build something. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do. No one expects anything to be perfect, just to get the job done. We just keep our focus on the crates and the deliveries that need to go out by evening.
