A S Hair Style is right on the main Choolaimedu High Road, at number 238. It is a very busy area, so there is always the sound of horns and engines outside our door. Sometimes it feels like the whole of Chennai is passing by right there. Our shop has been part of this street for years. It is a small space, but we make it work. We have the basic setup with the chairs and the sinks. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because that's not what people come here for. They come for a haircut that doesn't cost too much and doesn't take all day. We see students, office workers, and shopkeepers from the other stores on the road. The light inside is a bit yellow and the floor has some scratches from all the years of boots and shoes. We keep our tools clean and our scissors sharp, that is the main thing. Usually, we have a small TV running in the corner so people can watch the news while they wait. It’s nothing special to look at from the outside, just a door and a sign, but we are always here from morning till late evening. If you are walking down the high road and your hair is getting too long, you can just pop in. We don't ask for much, just a bit of your time. It is a practical shop for busy people.
