Shri Vaishno Bhojanlaya

You can find us at Shop No 259/6 on Old Ropar Road. We are right in Mani Majra, quite close to the Samadhi Gate. It’s a familiar spot for anyone who lives around here in Chandigarh 160101. Shri Vaishno Bhojanlaya is just a small place where we cook every day. We don’t have a massive menu, just the usual things that people like to eat for lunch and dinner. I’ve been working here for a long time, and the routine hasn't changed much. We start by getting the stove going and prepping the vegetables. It’s honest work and it keeps us on our feet. The shop isn't very big, so it gets warm inside when we are cooking, but we don't mind. We know most of the shopkeepers nearby. We aren't looking to become some big chain or anything. We just want to serve the food we make and go home at the end of the day. The Samadhi Gate is a good landmark if you're trying to find the shop for the first time. Old Ropar Road can get pretty busy with scooters and walkers. We just keep the door open and let the smell of the cooking go out into the street. It’s not fancy, it’s just how a local bhojanlaya should be. We use simple ingredients and just try to get the seasoning right every time.
