Rukhsar Dhaba

Rukhsar Dhaba is a small booth, number 200, over in Sector 28 D of Chandigarh. If you are looking for us, we are right near Pal Dhaba, which everyone seems to know. It’s a competitive spot, but we have our own way of doing things. The booth is small, so most of the action happens right there in the open kitchen. You can smell the tadka and the fresh rotis from the street. We get a lot of workers and office folks during lunchtime who just want something quick and filling before they go back to their jobs. The seating is basic—just some tables and stools where you can grab a bite. It gets pretty hot in the summers, but the fans keep the air moving a little. We don’t have a fancy menu with photos; we just tell you what’s fresh today. Usually, it’s the same few dishes that people keep coming back for. The staff is just a few of us who have been working together for years. We know how much salt this person likes or how much butter that person wants on their paratha. We don’t spend money on fancy boards or lights. Most of our customers come because they were walking by and liked the smell of the food. It’s just an honest little place in the middle of a busy sector where you can get fed for a fair price.
