Ramesh Vaishno Dhaba

Our dhaba is situated at Shop Number A and B on Govindpura Road in Mani Majra. We are quite close to the Housing Board Chowk, so it’s easy for people to give directions to our place. It’s a regular Vaishno dhaba, which means we don’t serve any meat or eggs here. We keep it strictly vegetarian. The shop is 1067/6, and it’s been here for a while. We have a few long tables where people sit together. Sometimes you end up eating next to a stranger, but that’s how dhabas work. We don't have fancy menus or waiters in uniforms. The boys just tell you what is fresh today. The kitchen is right there, so you can see the rotis being made on the tandoor. It gets very hot near the oven, especially in June. We use simple ingredients that we buy from the local market every morning. The traffic on Govindpura Road can be quite loud, and sometimes the parking is a headache, but people still stop by. We serve a lot of truck drivers and people living in the nearby housing blocks. It’s honest work. We start early and finish late at night once the last customer leaves. We don't use any fancy spices, just the regular stuff you find in any kitchen. It’s just good, simple food for hardworking people in Chandigarh. No big business talk, just cooking.
