Dilip Dhaba

Dilip Dhaba is over in Sector 45c, Chandigarh. We are at Shop Number 12 in the Burail area. If you are looking for us, we are right opposite the Sanatan Dharam Mandir. It’s a good spot because people coming from the temple often stop by. We aren't like the fancy restaurants in Sector 17. This is a dhaba. We have basic tables and chairs and we serve the kind of food that fills you up. I’ve been running this place with a couple of helpers for a few years. We wake up early to get the dal and vegetables started. The stove stays hot all day. Chandigarh is a nice city, but Burail is more crowded and real. We get all sorts of people—truck drivers, laborers, and sometimes families who just don't want to cook at home. We don't have a printed menu that changes; we just make what is fresh that day. Sometimes we have to tell people we are out of rotis if the rush is too big. The Mandir across the street keeps things peaceful, even when the road is busy. We just try to keep the food tasting like home. There’s no hidden trick to it. It’s just salt, spice, and a lot of hard work. We like being a part of Sector 45c and seeing the same faces every morning. It is just a simple way to earn a living.
