Venus Art

Venus Art is tucked away at 890, Gali Chandi Wali, which is a narrow little lane in the Main Bazar of Paharganj. If you have ever been to Paharganj, you know it is always crowded and noisy, but that is what gives it so much energy. Our shop is quite small, so we have to use every bit of wall space to show what we have. It can feel a bit cramped when there are more than two or three people inside at once. We spend our days chatting with travelers from all over and locals who have been coming to us for years. The street outside is a constant stream of motorcycles and people walking by. We don't have air conditioning, so the shop stays open to the street and we just use a couple of fans to keep the air moving. It gets pretty dusty, so we are always wiping things down with old cloths. We’ve been here a long time and we know almost everyone on the street. It is not a polished or high-end place, just a regular shop where we sell things we like. Sometimes the lights go out if there is a problem with the local grid, but we just light some candles and keep going. We don't do much in the way of formal business plans. We just take each day as it comes and try to keep things moving.
