Malhotra Art Service

We are Malhotra Art Service, located at 21 Kamla Market. We are really close to Girdarilal Hospital, so it’s easy to find us if you’re in that part of the city. Kamla Market has been here forever, and so have we. The building is old, and the walls have that thick paint from years of touch-ups. It gets pretty loud during the day with all the rickshaws and people rushing toward the hospital or the bus stops. Inside the shop, things are a bit more organized, though we have stacks of frames and paper rolls in every corner. My father started this, and now I’m the one mostly looking after the daily tasks. We do a lot of different things related to art and signs. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find a receptionist or a coffee machine. You just walk in, find me behind the counter, and we talk about what you need. Often, we are working late to finish an order because people always seem to be in a hurry. The lights in the market are quite bright at night, which is nice when you're packing up. It’s a busy life, but being near the hospital makes you realize that things could be a lot more complicated. We just do our work, close up the shop, and head home to our families after the sun goes down and the traffic settles.
