Aurodhan Art Gallery

Located at 1514 Chandra Road in the Subzi Mandi area, our gallery is in a part of town that you wouldn't exactly call quiet. Outside the front door, there’s usually a lot of shouting from the market and the smell of fresh produce. Inside Aurodhan Art Gallery, it’s a different world. We have these high ceilings and the walls are mostly covered in paintings that we’ve collected over time. We spend a lot of our day just walking around and making sure the frames are straight. The floor is made of old stone and it stays cool even when it’s boiling outside. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s mostly just us keeping the place clean and talking to anyone who wanders in from the market. Sometimes the lights give us trouble because the wiring in this part of Delhi is pretty old, but we manage. We have a small back room where we keep the extra canvases and a kettle for making tea. It’s not a fancy corporate space; it’s more like a workshop that happens to have art on the walls. We get a mix of people coming through—some who really know about art and others who just want to escape the sun for a bit. We don't mind either way. It’s been our daily life at this address for years, and we just keep the doors open.
