Calendar Kala Mandir

Shidipura is one of those parts of Karol Bagh that never seems to sleep. Our address is 8894/14-B and it’s a busy little corner. Calendar Kala Mandir is the name we’ve used for years. The name is on a painted board that’s seen better days. When you step inside, you’ll see stacks of paper and the smell of ink is pretty strong. It’s not a quiet place. There is always the sound of something moving or someone talking loudly over the street noise. The windows are small and look out onto the alleyway. We have a couple of wooden benches for people to sit on if they’re waiting, but usually, it’s just us moving around. The lighting isn't great, just some long tube lights that flicker occasionally. We keep things simple here. There aren't any glossy brochures or fancy decorations on the walls. Mostly it's just calendars and samples of old work tucked into corners. The area is packed with other shops, so it’s a tight squeeze getting through the street most afternoons. We know most of the people who work nearby and we often share a pot of tea in the late afternoon. It’s a practical workspace for people who aren't looking for anything showy. Just a local spot in a crowded neighborhood where the work happens day after day without much fuss or any corporate nonsense involved.
