Down here in Hardev Nagar, specifically in the Jharodha Majra area of Burari, we run our engineering firm. It’s a part of Delhi that’s always moving. We handle technical projects and engineering bits that come our way. Most of the time, our space is filled with drawings and some tools, depending on what we are working on that week. The address is A 19, and if you are coming through Burari, it’s not too hard to spot once you get into the lanes of Hardev Nagar. We have a small team of people who actually understand how things are built and fixed. It’s not like those corporate offices in the city center with glass walls. We have real walls and real noise from the street. Our day usually starts with a tea and a look at what needs to be finished by evening. Sometimes we are out on a site and other times we are stuck at the desk figuring out a problem with a design. It can be dusty and loud around here, but we like being in this part of Delhi. It feels real. We just try to get the engineering right so the things we work on actually stand up and work. People around the neighborhood know us as the guys who deal with the technical stuff. It’s just a regular engineering shop doing what we know how to do every day.
