Down on Rani Jhansi Road, specifically at number 6 in Motia Khan, is where you'll find Associated Scientific & Engineering Works. It’s a bit of a crowded area with a lot of noise from the street, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We deal with technical tools and engineering parts that look complicated to most people. The workshop has that smell of metal and oil that never really goes away. There are stacks of papers on the desks and half-finished projects sitting on the workbenches. It’s not the tidiest office you’ll ever see, but we know where everything is. Most of our days are spent fixing things or trying to figure out why a particular piece of equipment isn't doing what it's supposed to. We have a few guys who have been with us since the start, and they really know their way around a lathe. It can get pretty loud when the heavy machinery is running, so we end up shouting to hear each other. We aren't trying to be the biggest engineering firm in the city or anything like that. We just focus on the job at hand and make sure the work is solid. If you stop by, you might find us having tea while we wait for a part to arrive. It’s just a steady, working-class spot in a busy part of town where we get the job done.
