Veedarbha Samruddhi Krushi Producer Company Limited is based out of Warwand. We are over in the Mehkar area. To find us, you look for Santoshappa Mahadeoappa Sakhar’s place. That is where we do most of our planning. Warwand is a small spot, so everyone usually knows where we are located. Working as a producer company in this part of the state has its ups and downs. Most of us grew up here and have been working the land since we were kids. This company was just a way to put our resources together. It is not some big corporate thing. It is just Santoshappa and a bunch of the local farmers trying to get a fair shake. We spend a lot of time discussing seed prices and water issues. The office is really just a room where we keep the paperwork and meet after the day's work is finished. People stop by at all hours depending on what is happening in the fields. We don't have a receptionist or a big sign. It’s just the name on the registration and us doing the work. Some days it is just about making sure the transport arrives on time. Other days we are just sitting and waiting for the rain to stop. It’s a simple life and the company is just a part of that routine in Mehkar. We hope to just keep going as we are, working the land together.
