Our office is located right in front of the Khangaon Naka in Buldhana. It is at Sau Mandakini Tejrao Sawle’s place, so it is easy enough for people to find when they are coming into town. Being a farmer producer company means we spend a lot of time thinking about the people around here who actually do the planting and harvesting. Buldhana can be a tough place for farming sometimes, depending on the year, so we try to stay grounded. We are not some big city operation with shiny glass windows. We have a simple room where we keep our files and meet up to talk. You will usually see a few motorcycles parked out front and someone probably drinking chai nearby. We focus on what the farmers need right now, not some five-year plan. If the rain is late, that is what we talk about. If the prices are down, we try to figure out a way through it together. It is a bit messy sometimes, running a business like this, but it is honest work. We do not use a lot of big words or try to act like we know everything. We just know Buldhana and we know our members. Most days are just spent sorting through the usual chores and making sure everyone is on the same page. It is a community effort more than anything else, just people in the neighborhood helping each other out.
