You can find us over at Rambhau Helge’s place in Malegaaongond, which is near Nandura in the Buldhana district. Our company is Santbapuji Maharaj Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited. We named it after the saint because it felt right for our community. We are just a group of local farmers who were tired of getting the short end of the stick at the market. So, we put our heads together and started this. It’s not a big corporate office; it’s just Rambhau’s home where we sit on the porch and talk about the price of cotton or soy. We don't have any experts or big consultants. Everything we do comes from our own experience in the fields. Sometimes we argue about which seeds to buy or when to sell, but that’s just how it is when you have a lot of people involved. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words. We just want to make sure that our kids can stay on the land and actually make a living. Buldhana can be a hard place to farm, but we have been here for generations and we aren't going anywhere. We just keep working, trying to get a little bit better each year and hoping the rain is kind to us. It’s a simple life, and we like to keep our business simple too.
