Saikalyana Agro Processor Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Plot Number 742 in the Patwari Colony area. That is over in Mehkar, which is part of Buldhana district. We decided to set this whole thing up because we saw so much of our hard work going to waste. Our crops were being sold for very low prices because we didn't have a way to process them ourselves. If we can clean the grain or pack things right here in the village, it helps everyone in the group earn a little bit more for their families. The office is located in a quiet spot. It is not like those big city offices you see on the news with glass walls and air conditioning. It is just a regular building where we meet up to discuss the upcoming harvest or the price of fuel. Lately, we have been trying to learn about how to get better machines for the processing side of the business. Buldhana is a big place for farming, but often it feels like we are left behind by the big markets. By coming together as a farmer producer company, we have a slightly stronger voice. We don't have any marketing people or fancy brochures. It is just us farmers trying to understand the business side of the world. Sometimes the power goes out for hours and we just have to sit and wait. That is just how life is here in Mehkar. It takes a lot of patience to do this.
