Our small office for Parijat Agro Farmers Producer Companylimited is located at Plot No.B-9 in the MIDC area of Chikhali. We are right next to the Shri Balaji Urban Co-Operative Society, which makes it easy for people to find us when they are coming into town for their banking. Buldhana is a place where most people know each other, so we don't really have to do much to let folks know we are here. We just opened up this company because a group of us farmers wanted to see if we could do things a bit differently by pooling what we have together. It gets pretty loud around the MIDC with all the trucks and the dust, but it is a good spot for moving goods around. We spend our mornings checking on the accounts and our afternoons out in the fields or talking to the other members about their seeds and soil. Sometimes the power goes out in the office and we just sit outside on the plastic chairs until it comes back on. It is a very simple operation we have going here. We are just local people from Chikhali trying to make sense of the market prices which seem to change every single hour. There are no fancy decorations in our place, just some old desks and a lot of registers. We handle things as they come and hope the season treats us okay this year.
