Paeenvitthal Farmers Producer Company Limited is out in the Mehekar taluka, specifically at Gut No 265 in Vitthalwadi. It is a very rural area, which is exactly where we need to be to stay connected to the farmers we work with. The roads can be quite rough, especially after the monsoon, so getting things in and out takes a bit of planning. Our building is a simple structure on the land, surrounded by greenery and open space. It’s a far cry from the crowded cities. We spend most of our mornings checking on the local crops and seeing what the current needs are. There isn't much in the way of shops nearby, so we usually bring our own lunches and eat together under the shade when it’s too hot inside. We don’t have a lot of fancy technology here; we rely more on ledgers and face-to-face conversations. It’s a slower pace of life, but there is always plenty of work to do. Sometimes the cattle from the neighboring farm wander a bit too close to our entrance, which always causes a bit of a laugh. We are just a group of people trying to make the producer side of farming a bit more organized for the folks in Vitthalwadi. It’s hard work and the hours can be long during harvest time, but we wouldn't have it any other way. We just take things one day at a time.
