Devakinandana Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Borgaon in Tal. Sillod. We are set up at Ramchandra Bramhane’s place, which is where we do most of our talking and planning. Living in Borgaon means we are right in the middle of our farms, so we see what is happening every day. Most of us grew up here and have been farming since we were kids. This company is our way of working as a team instead of everyone just doing their own thing alone. It gets busy during the planting season, and we spend a lot of time discussing what seeds to use or how to handle the water when the wells go low. Sometimes the electricity goes out or the roads get muddy after a big storm, but we manage somehow. We aren't here to make big speeches or show off. We just want to get the work done and maybe get a better deal for what we grow. Being in Sillod, we deal with the same issues as all our neighbors. Ramchandra’s house is usually where you can find someone if there is a problem to solve. We use simple tools and traditional ways, but we are learning some newer stuff too. It is a slow process, building something like this from the ground up, but we are sticking with it. We don't have a big office with air conditioning, just a spot in Borgaon where we meet up. It is honest work for honest people.
