Davbindu Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in Mehkar, on the State Bank Road. We are registered care of Rambhau Gangaram Thakare. This area in Buldhana is where we all live and work. We started this company because we wanted a way to get our produce to the market without too many problems. It is a local group, mostly friends and neighbors from around Mehkar. We aren't a big corporation. Our office is just a place to meet and sign papers or talk about the crops. Mostly we are concerned with how to get better seeds and how to deal with the water situation here. Some days are good, some are really hard when the weather doesn't cooperate. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. It's just us. We talk in the local language and keep things very basic. The company helps us stay organized so we can maybe get a better price for what we grow. We focus on the things that matter to a small farmer, like costs and local market access. People know us in the town, and we try to help out whoever is part of the group. It is a very practical way of living. We just want to keep our farms going for the next generation. That's why we registered Davbindu. It is hard to explain everything, but basically, we are just working the land and trying to stay together as a small team.
