Grill Hut

We've been here at Block 4 in the Lalgarh Campus for a while now. It’s right across from Sagar Hotel, so most people find us pretty easily. Being so close to the Roadways Bus Stand means there are always folks coming and going. Bikaner gets really hot, so we try to keep things moving inside. It’s just a regular spot where we cook up stuff every day. Some days are busier than others, especially when the buses are running on time. I started this place because I needed something to do, and I liked the idea of a small kitchen. My brother helps out sometimes when he isn’t busy with his own work. We spend a lot of time cleaning the counters and making sure the fridge is stocked with fresh things. There isn't much fancy decor here, just tables and chairs and the smell of the grill. People stop in, eat their fill, and then head back out to the station. We see a lot of students from the campus too. They usually come in groups and stay for an hour talking about their classes. It gets loud when the lunch rush hits, but that’s just how it goes. I usually do the morning shift myself. I open up the shutters around ten and start getting the coal or the gas ready. It’s a simple life, honestly. We aren't trying to change the world, just making food for the neighborhood.
