Rao Saloon

Rao Saloon is right near Sishu Bhabana Chhak on Bhubaneswar Road. We’ve been cutting hair here for a long time. It’s a small shop, just a few chairs and some mirrors that have seen better days. We don't do anything too fancy, just regular haircuts and shaves for the men in the neighborhood. Usually, there’s a radio playing or some people sitting around waiting their turn, talking about the weather or local news. It’s a relaxed place. We know most of the people who come in because they’ve been regulars since they were kids. Being near the airport means we get some travelers too, but mostly it’s just the locals. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, but we sweep it up when we can. We don't have an online booking system or anything like that. You just show up and wait for a chair to open. Sometimes there's a bit of a queue on Sundays, but that's just how it goes. It’s a simple business. We take pride in our scissors and razors, making sure they’re sharp. If you’re looking for a place to sit down for twenty minutes and get a decent trim without any fuss, we’re here. It’s just us doing what we know how to do. The fan makes a bit of noise, but it keeps the place cool enough while we work. We aren't stylists, just barbers who know the local cuts.
