Maa Saloon

Our shop is at Plot 508 in the Kalinga Market over in Madhusudan Nagar. If you are looking for us, we are right in front of Burma Sports. It’s a busy spot to be in, especially during the evenings when everyone is out shopping for sports gear or groceries. Being in the market means we are always surrounded by noise and activity. There is always someone shouting or a bike honking nearby on the road. Inside the saloon, we try to keep things a bit more grounded. We have been here for quite a while, and the walls show a bit of that age. We have the usual mirrors and the black chairs that everyone around here knows. Most of the people who come in are local guys from Madhusudan Nagar who have been coming to us since they were kids. We see the same families growing up, which is a nice thing about being in one place for so long. Sometimes we run out of water and have to carry buckets from the back, but we get by. It’s not a fancy place with air conditioning or anything, just a few ceiling fans that work hard all day. We do our work, talk about the local sports scores, and keep the floor swept. It’s a simple way to earn a living. We don’t really think about being the best or anything, we just focus on the person sitting in the chair at that moment. That's enough for us.
